Job Summary

The Assistant Manager – Accounts & Control drives accurate financial reporting and robust internal controls while leading and developing the accounting team. This role combines hands-on financial expertise with supervisory responsibilities to ensure the integrity of financial data and compliance with policies.

Job Responsibilities

• Support the preparation of monthly financial statements, ensuring adherence to deadlines and accuracy.

• Review financial accounts in detail with the Manager, verifying the appropriateness of provisions and accruals.

• Collaborate closely with the Revenue Assurance team to deliver timely and accurate estimated revenue figures for Kirby MEA Pre-Close reports.

• Prepare comprehensive financial packages for management reporting requirements and statutory audits.

• Develop and present meaningful and comprehensive management information to support strategic decision-making.

• Ensure the existence of robust procedural controls and proactively identify and implement improvements to safeguard business assets.

• Oversee the daily activities of junior accounting team members, ensuring the delivery of timely and accurate results.

• Educate business unit managers and accounting staff on corporate control measures and monitor compliance with established policies and procedures.

• Provide strong leadership and mentorship to the accounting and controls team across various plants, including performance evaluations and the identification of professional development opportunities.

• Review and approve payment requests and expense reimbursements based on delegated authority.

• Act as a primary point of contact to provide necessary documentation and support for internal and external audit requests.

• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with financial analysts and operational teams.

• Work collaboratively with the IT department to identify, implement, and resolve system-related improvements and issues.

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or Finance preferably with professionally qualification (MBA/CA/CPA/CMA or equivalent).

• A minimum of 10 years’ experience preferably in a multinational environment.

• Sound knowledge of accounting concepts (including IFRS), finance processes & internal controls.

• Previous experience supervising a team to deliver quality and control focused financial reporting - maintaining a robust control environment ensuring policies and procedures are adhered to.

• Strong general IT proficiency, including advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with ERP systems (preferably SAP).
