Job Summary
The Assistant Manager – Accounts & Control will oversee GL accounting and financial reporting by leading a high-performing team to deliver accurate statements, ensure audit, tax, treasury and control compliance, drive automation and SAP initiatives, manage stakeholder coordination, and build strong talent through continuous development and succession planning.
Job Responsibilities
- GL Accounting and Financial reporting:
- Lead a team of accountants to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Ensure successful and accurate trial balance upload into the Central Consolidation system (Tagetik).
- Prepare financial statements and reports as per corporate standards.
- Analyze the financial statements and highlight the risks in key accounts
- Review the various accounting processes and suggest improvements and automations.
- Manage Control functions and ensure business is following the same and highlight the risks, if any.
2. Statutory and Internal Audit and Compliance:
- Coordinate with external auditors to complete statutory as per corporate timeline.
- Support corporate internal audit team on various requirements and ensure timely closing of open audit observations, if any.
3. Treasury and Banking:
- Project the cash flow requirement and align with Corporate Treasury on funding.
- Overview of the receivable management functions and highlight business for risks.
4. Tax Management
- Support corporate tax department on various tax compliance requirements, if any.
5. Automation and Efficiency Improvement:
- Drive System automation projects to improve efficiency of Accounts team and reduce manual work.
- Support the Finance Controller and other business functions during SAP implementation.
6. Team Development & Succession Planning
- Actively engage in mentoring and coaching within the Accounts team by providing or arranging regular training programs, workshops, and knowledge-sharing sessions to enhance technical and soft skills.
- Setting objective metrics and periodic review of the team performance and providing feedback on areas of development
Candidate Requirements
• A graduate in Accounting or Finance with professionally qualification (CA/CPA/ICMA or equivalent).
• A minimum of 4 years post qualification experience preferably in a multinational environment.
• Sound knowledge of accounting concepts (including IFRS), finance processes & internal controls.
• Previous experience supervising a small team in order to deliver quality and control focused financial reporting - maintaining a robust control environment ensuring policies and procedures are adhered to.
• Strong general IT skills, an expert user of MS Excel with experience with ERP systems (preferably SAP)
• An organized approach with proven ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong communication skills in English with ability to communicate and collaborate cross-functionally with senior management within the organization
