Job Summary
To oversee the efficient and effective management of property and casualty insurance claims. This role involves supervising a team of claims adjusters, ensuring compliance with regulations and company policies, and providing excellent customer service to policyholders and stakeholders. The Assistant Manager evaluates claim submissions, negotiates settlements, analyzes claims data for insights, and collaborates with other departments to resolve complex issues. Additionally, he play a key role in continuous improvement efforts to enhance claims processes and outcomes.
Job Responsibilities
1. Claims Management: Assist in managing the end-to-end claims process for property and casualty insurance claims, ensuring timely and efficient handling from initial report to final settlement.
2. Team Supervision: Supervise and support claims team and loss adjusters or claims handlers, providing guidance, training, and performance management to ensure quality and productivity targets are met.
3. Customer Service: Ensure a high level of customer service by promptly responding to inquiries, addressing customer concerns, and maintaining positive relationships with policyholders, brokers, and other stakeholders.
4. Compliance and Regulations: Ensure compliance with insurance regulations and company policies in claims handling practices, including documentation, investigation, and settlement procedures.
5. Risk Assessment: Assess claim submissions to determine coverage, liability, and extent of damages, applying knowledge of insurance policies, contract terms, and industry standards.
6. Settlement Negotiation: Negotiate claim settlements with insured parties, claimants, attorneys, and other involved parties, striving to achieve fair and equitable resolutions while minimizing financial loss for the company.
7. Claims Analysis and Reporting: Analyze claims data and trends to identify patterns, root causes of losses, and opportunities for process improvements. Prepare and present reports on claims performance, trends, and key metrics to management.
8. Relationship Management: Collaborate with internal departments such as underwriting, risk management, legal, and finance to resolve complex claims issues and ensure alignment of claims processes with overall business objectives.
9. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline claims processes, enhance operational efficiency, and implement best practices to optimize claims management procedures and deliver superior service to customers.
10. Training and Development: Provide ongoing training, coaching, and professional development opportunities to claims staff to enhance their knowledge, skills, and performance in handling various types of property and casualty claims.
11. To act within Technical hierarchy in matters of Decision-making employing Underwriting and Commercials skills on various lines within the General Insurance
12. Being the First point of referral for Technical persons within the underwriting team
13. Functional Scope within Day to day decision making on matters having technical perspective
14. Reinsurers on all Facultative claims for various products
15. Create and manage a uniform and single platform SLA not in conflict with the final customer
16. Manage and tabulate all necessary claims Treaty stats and information ; act next to P&C Manager for all matters in relation to annual treaty formulation
17. Be in charge of all monthly and quarterly closings and reporting with Finance
18. Be updated with changes in the Marketplace and future trending, all lines of business
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree or equivalent
- Certification in Insurance minimum CERT CII or equivalent.
- 4-6 years in the field of insurance out of which at least 3 years in P&C Claims
- Sound relationship and leadership skills, policies and procedures
- Strong in analytics and numerical
- Excellent communication skills
- Microsoft office competency
- 3 years of Local / GCC market experience
