Job Summary
The Quantity Surveyor for Landscaping Projects will oversee and manage all costs related to landscaping and garden design projects, from initial estimates to final figures. The role involves ensuring value for money, minimizing costs, and maintaining high-quality standards while adhering to legal and regulatory requirements.
Job Responsibilities
1. Project Cost Management:
• Review landscape design plans and prepare quantity requirements.
• Estimate the quantity and costs of materials, plants, and equipment for projects.
• Track and manage changes in design or construction, updating budgets accordingly.
2. Contract Management:
• Prepare detailed contracts and documentation for landscaping projects.
• Negotiate costs and contracts with suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors.
• Manage subcontractor arrangements, including sourcing, hiring, and documentation.
3. Budgeting & Financial Reporting:
• Develop and oversee project budgets, including payments, material procurement, and inventory needs.
• Process contractor and subcontractor payments while maintaining financial records.
• Identify financial risks and develop mitigation strategies.
4. Client & Stakeholder Communication:
• Serve as a liaison between clients, site managers, and project engineers.
• Provide advice on landscaping improvements, cost strategies, and estimated project costs.
• Document project progress and prepare stakeholder reports.
5. Material & Site Monitoring:
• Monitor construction materials, plant health, and inventory levels.
• Source and manage maintenance costs and contracts post-project completion.
6. Regulatory Compliance:
• Advise on landscaping regulations, environmental concerns, and local laws.
• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.
