Job Summary

Self-driven and detail-oriented Buyer to be part of our agricultural team. Responsible for planning, purchasing and ensuring availability of all products required for our landscape contracts and for sale in our sale outlets and garden center, on a wholesale bases while monitoring and managing inventory levels. The products include all types of Indoor and outdoor plants, Irrigation material, hardscape items, fertilizers, seeds, pesticides, soil additives, greenhouse accessories, planters, rocks, gravels, garden furniture, garden lights and many other items related to soft landscape, hard landscape, water features, horticulture and floriculture. 

Job Responsibilities

•Build and manage relationships with key suppliers to maintain quality of goods, timely delivery and compliance with the organization’s terms and conditions
•Ability to determine quality of product and procure those quality materials at the best possible prices and terms and within budget
•Source and identify new venders for quality products to introduce new products in the market
•Work with  all projects managers to understand and know  each contract requirements and arrange all required items well in time from local sources or from international suppliers at competitive prices
•Work with sales manager and sales engineers to understand market requirements, competitor’s products and prices, and market trends 
•Travel to industry trade shows, exhibitions and conferences, to find new sources, to negotiate better prices and contracts, to see the quality of products and to discuss the new development in the industry to
•Determine types and quantities of horticultural products to be purchased, based on budgets, projected sales volumes or executive directives
•Review inventory levels regularly and make adjustments in pricing as needed to sell through seasonal products in a timely manner
•Effectively communicate potential supply disruptions throughout the organization
•Support continuous improvement throughout the organization
•Coordinate with accounting to ensure pricing/invoicing accuracy
•Assist with tasks such as preparing and sending customer invoices, monitoring inventory levels and preparing quotes for customers
•Willing and timely execution of other duties as delegated by leadership

Candidate Requirements

•Minimum 5 years experience in similar field
•Degree in horticulture, agriculture or botany preferred
•Advanced knowledge about ornamental plants and complete ranges of products related to horticulture, landscape, irrigation and garden center
•Horticultural knowledge, commercial awareness, enthusiasm and negotiation skills
•Detail oriented and able to manage competing priorities and multiple deadlines in a fast paced environment
•Maintain business confidentiality and protect proprietary procedures and data
•Must have a high level of attention to detail, accuracy and excellent negotiations skills
•Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
•Attend all scheduled meetings and provide suggestions for improvement
•Valid Kuwait driver’s license
 

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture
