Deputy General Manager - Quality Assurance

Overview

 

  • As the primary point of contact for Quality Management systems (QA/QC) and related issues.
  • Play a lead role for implementing LEAN manufacturing & ‘5S’ methodologies and drive the changes in the organization to improve process efficiency.
  • Responsible to measure, monitor and improve the customer satisfaction level and ensure timely CAPA for all customer complaints / feed backs.
  • Responsible for driving continual improvement of the processes through various strategies (Opex, suggestion scheme, bench marking, training, etc)
  • Responsible to validate and upgrade the processes, test facilities, methods at various stages in manufacturing.
  • Plan and implement quality audit schedules and be the Lead Auditor for all internal and external agency Quality audits,
  • Prepare Quality Plans, QA Procedures and Inspection and Test Plans
  • Initiate periodic review and update Quality manual, procedure manual and forms / formats to reflect changes accordingly.
  • Lead all activities related to Welder Qualifications, WPS, PQR, & NDT requirements as per Company’s Quality procedures.
  • Perform daily ‘Routine Checks’ of all ‘Ongoing process activities’ in the plant to ensure the compliance as per the standard Quality Assurance Plan / Project specific QAP, (as applicable)
  • Lead the preparation of the monthly MIS regarding Quality Performance from ‘Incoming RM to the Erection completion at site’.
  • Liaoning with PMG, CMG, Sales and Engineering for Quality related queries & Issues.
  • He has to also lead all the other Quality related functions like :

 

    • Revalidate / strengthen further the Quality Nrms set for ‘In process’ quality parameters.
    • Shift the paradigm frm ‘Quality Control’ towards ‘Quality Assurance’ on shop floor.
    • Preparatin, maintain & up gradation of QMS documents as per ISO 9001:2008.
    • Ensure that Quality management systems are in cmpliance with ISO 9001:2008.
    • Cnduct Plant Level ‘Internal Quality Audit’, audits on ‘5S’ & ‘Safety’ as per the schedule.
    • Cordination with certifying agency for ISO Certification & accordingly arranging the External Audits.
    • Cnduct Vendor capability assessment as per the requirements.
    • Organise NDT thrugh outsourced agency as when required.
    • Ascertain the n time Calibration, testing & certification of all measuring instruments.
    • Assist in setting the Key perfrmance Indicators (KPIs) for QA Department.
    • Cmmunicate regularly with QA team individually & in a group.
    • D employee performance reviews to determine Competency & knowledge.
    • Evaluate & implement emplyee developmental and training needs.
    • Methds / strategies to improve ‘Product related Quality’.
  • Ensure Participation & play a Lead Role in team efforts for EHS initiatives related to respective work areas.
  • Any deviation / discrepancies / Quality violations / non conformities observed need to immediately discuss with the concerned HOD & those critical to be raised to VPO.
