Job Summary

The role would lead a team of developers for the operations and support of existing digital initiatives (website, mobile app) and future digital initiatives (in-store kiosk marketplace etc.). 

The primary responsibility is to perform continuous assessment on the systems and improvise, fulfill the gaps where applicable.
Introduce & maintain the operational process to address the pain points of Business to improvise and ensure the applications are secure throughout and the on-going issues are addressed.

This role will be based in Kuwait, managing the local team & development partners.
Should have experience in leading commerce development projects with good understanding of retail business framework, technical architecture, deployment of commerce software and integration of the online store to any other systems.
 

Job Responsibilities


•    Work in partnership with the business unit as a member of the management team, to fully understand the key business drivers, processes and needs of current challenges as well as future strategic initiatives and objectives.
•    Setup and follow the process for operational support to Business and Customers.
•    Strategize the operational tools and systems required to be in place for better control and monitoring of systems. Involve in selection, setup etc.
•    Operational responsibility for Business IT resources and Business IT Budget
•    Collaborate with IT and the business, utilizing business intelligence and analysis to integrate technology differentiators into the business and Program planning cycle.
•    Collaborate with Infra, Security team for identifying operational improvements and execute the improvements.
•    Set up practices for security assessments with Security team and address the gaps.
•    Provide integrated IT support to the business unit senior management team.
•    Fully participate in wider business projects with an IT focus.
•    Work proactively and in partnership with IT to ensure that operational support is focused to achieve business as usual efficiency.
•    Review, define and challenge existing IT policies and practices with appropriate IT specialists and seek to continuously improve the services provided to the business.
•    Active participation & knowledge contribution in Solution designs of every individual feature to better shape the design for scalability.
•    Source, negotiate & manage 3rd Party suppliers & partners and forge partnerships with them for new technologies from long term perspective.
•    Lead aspects of applications selection and implementation from IT perspective
•    Evaluating and introducing new technologies
•    Continuous improvement of systems reliability and performance.
•    Involvement in the development activities when necessary.

Candidate Requirements

A bachelor’s degree in engineering/science/IT coupled with solid technology background in web/software development.
Minimum 8 years of experience in Retail/E-commerce industry.
Minimum 5 years of experience in leading the team(s) to drive and deliver the projects.
Should have experience in leading development team to deliver multiple projects in parallel.
Should have strong experience in one of the frontend frameworks like Angular, react, Next JS.
Working experience in implementation and architecture preparation of Microservices.
Must have good understanding of retail business framework, technical architecture, deployment of commerce software and integration of the online store to third party systems.
Strong and demonstrable solution architecting skills with minimum 5 years of experience including application architecture, object and data modeling, database design etc.
Should have grown in the technical career path with hands on experience in web development, coding, and solution design.
Knowledge of Agile Software development methodology
Must have excellent knowledge of Cloud administration (AWS or GCP or Azure)
Must have excellent knowledge of database administration
Knowledge of Social Media integration, SEO, SEM, Google Analytics
Strong business analysis and modeling techniques are required.
Strong leadership qualities (negotiation, collaboration and facilitation, teambuilding/mentoring, written and verbal communications)
